This is the closest I will ever come to drawing a pony, for the record. Had this idea rattling around in my head ever since I pitched it to someone else. They weren't fond of half-human gals (which is fine), so I did it up myself. Originally, she was going to be armored in something heavy vaguely reminiscent of a knight, but I went for something lighter more like a member of a bronze-age or iron-age tribe of plains nomads.

Yes, I actually used some photos of horses to get those bits right, too. So uh, that's why my internet history currently includes a google search for "muscular mares." Can't have the poor gal looking like a stallion now can we? (Yeah, I doubt there's any important differences in body structure, too.)

The spear is actually supposed to have three blades at 1/3rd angles, but I overlooked that one would be completely silhouetted with the way I set it up. Oh well.

Pretty happy with it at the end of the day. Yeah yeah yeah of course there's always room to improve, but if you let that mean you can never be happy unless you're at the top of your field, then you'll be too miserable to stick with it long enough to get there anyway.
